Google AdSense



Adsense is the way in which website owners can publish Google ads on their own websites and earn money from each click through. The Google ads are related to the content of the website and they add value to the site content and allow you to earn money from your website


Ad Words



This is Google’s Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising program. The adverts are displayed in the sponsored listing and an advertiser is charged each time someone click on an advert and is taken to the webpage it is advertising. Advertisers have to bid on the keyword term that they are interested in. The higher the bid the higher the placing in the sponsored listing. It is the keyword search that triggers the advert.


Algorithm


Algorithm is the term given to the process that the Search Engines use to determine where a website will be displayed in the SERPs (Search Engine Rankings Page).

The search engine algorithm is a closely guarded secret but does contain the following elements:

  • URL of webpage
  • Title Tag
  • Meta keyword and description tags
  • HTML heading tags
  • Body/Text content
  • The number of links to the webpage
  • The text used to link to the webpage
  • Trust with the search engine
  • Age of Website


Alt Tags


Alt Tags are used for display or describing a image. If the image cannot load it gives a text based description in its place. For SEO purposes the alt tag is used to place keywords in the page code.

The first part of the tag is the image file name, the second part is the alt image tag.

Anchor Text


Anchor text is the part of text that links back to a website. The anchor text is very important in Google. The text in the hyperlink is an important aspect of SEO.
